5 weeks left...

I can't believe in 5 weeks we will be greeting another little Herring! It's gone pretty quick, although I'm definitely ready for this one to be done. Getting to the uncomfortable stage now and ready to be done :-) For those of you that don't know, this little bundle will arrive on the day before Thanksgiving, unless of course my water breaks or I go into labor before then. We are scheduled for a C section on the morning of 11/24. I did sneak in this morning and got a sneak peek at work. Head is down and baby was practicing breathing :-) Approximate weight was at 5 lbs 15 oz, give or take a pound or two. So it's going to be another big Herring baby :-) We are still waiting to find out if it will be little Lily Donna or Samuel Herbert though.

I will be posting pictures soon too of Thomas's 2nd birthday party!! He had a blast and is so much fun. He's SO smart - just like his Mommy. And I think even he is excited to meet the baby :-)

Nesting Syndrome has Set In!!

Well, nesting has set in. Even though we have 2 months left, I feel the need to go through all bags, boxes, clothes, baby things, and get them ready. The nursery is painted, crib mostly put together, and furniture starting to move in. I've started laundry and moving blankets into the baby's room. Considering I want a Christmas tree up and most of the Christmas shopping done & presents wrapped before we go into the hospital, I figured I better get a good start on it.

Had another dr's appt last Monday and everything is looking good. Did the glucose test for gestational diabetes, which came back normal -- no more of that icky stuff. Blood pressure was awesome at 100/64. Weight is FINALLY up...every other appointment up until now I've lost weight, but came back with a vengence this time around -- up 7 pounds. Yikes! Now we start our every 2-week appointments. I can't believe 9 weeks from Wednesday we will be welcoming our new little one! I even think Thomas is getting excited...

But I think he's more excited about his upcoming birthday!!! On Thursday John and I will have a 2-year-old. I can't believe it! He's such a little man :-) and a little sweetie...although he is definitely hitting the "terrible 2's". Even at his worst though, he is an absolute joy and we still treasure it :-) ...but he could definitely quit saying "I don't wanna"

Good Quotes

This morning as Tommy was eating his cereal. He found one that wasn't completely round. He picked it out, held it up, and said "This one is crappy". Now how are you supposed to NOT laugh at that??

Later today...we all took a nap together. I woke up first and was trying to wake up Tommy and Daddy. Me: "Daddy...Tommy...wake up". Tommy stretched, opened his eyes, and then said, "We're sleeping", rolled over and closed his eyes again.. It was too cute.

Summer Fun

Baby #2 debut.

Here it is...the baby's first debut. We have had a couple of ultrasounds, but I am finally getting to posting some of the pictures. On the CD there is also a video so hopefully i can figure out how to upload that too so you can see the little one kicking me. So far this one is pretty strong!


Yeah! I think it was a success. Anyway, the video shows the little one moving around, the little arm is moving up by the head, probably waving or punching me!

Another visit

We had another dr's appointment today and we are again boringly normal-- yeah!! Everything looks good. Heart beat for baby was 147 bpm and Dr. says everything looks spot on. We chose our C-section delivery date and are awaiting a call back to see when the moment will actually occur (of course as long as I don't go into labor or water breaks prior to this). We'll let you know the actual date when we do, but let's just say chances are there won't be any turkey for me this year. I guess I do without for one year though :-)

Doctor Visit #2 for Baby #2

So another dr's visit under my belt for baby #2. Everything looks good. I am measuring a little bit larger -- 18 weeks, even though I will be at 17 weeks here on Wednesday. Heart beat was at 146 and everything looks spot on. Morning sickness is still there, but it hasn't been as bad as it was with Thomas. Maybe it's the fact that I don't necessarily have the time to be that sick :-)

Thomas is as busy as ever and NEVER stops talking. He is full of words all the time, and amazes us at how well he can put together a sentence and what he remembers!! He's absolutely amazing. He still is excited about the upcoming baby (I think). He'll point out to us where the baby is and if feeding us "food" from his little kitchen, he will offer some to the baby too...offer my tummy food, hugs, and kisses. He's going to be an amazing big brother :-)
