6 months old
Last Monday 3/23/09, Thomas celebrated his 6-month birthday while we were on the road. Today we went to the doctor for his 6-month check-up. Everything looks really good. The doctor said we are making it look easy because we have a happy, healthy, little boy. He is still on the 75th percentile for height, measuring in at 27 inches. And is also following his curve of the 35-45th percentile for weight at 17 pounds 15 ounces!!! My God! I can't believe my baby boy is 17 pounds already, not to mention 6 months old! It has gone so quickly.
Thomas also had a blast - before the shots - tearing all the paper off of the roll at the end of the table. Dr. Smith said it was ok though - "Have at it boy, we don't charge by the sheet". :-)
Daddy stood by during the shots this time, which went a lot better. There were a lot less tears for Thomas and no tears for Mommy although she still doesn't like going in for shots for her baby and her heart breaks when she hears that big cry. After a long nap this afternoon, Thomas is feeling much better and hopefully won't have too much pain in his little legs following this round.
We hope everyone is doing well!

Well, we are back from North Carolina and we had a blast. Thomas got to meet his cousins, Uncle JP, and Aunt Erin. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and we had a great time. Thomas did a great job in the car - and surprised me as to how well he did. He also got to go swimming for the first time at the hotel we stayed at on the way home. I will post more pictures of the wedding when we get them. We enjoyed traveling with my parents and spending so much time with family while we were down there. We stayed in a house in the mountains with my parents, grandparents, and uncles. It was great to spend all that time with family. JP & Erin's wedding was absolutely great. It was a small wedding, but really really nice. John and I were absolutely honored to stand up for them and participate in their special day. I'm extremely excited that Erin is part of our family now. We are lucky to have her :-)

On the road to North Carolina
Here's a picture of Thomas on his very first road trip. We stopped in a church parking lot in Indiana so he could play on a blanket on the ground and enjoy being out of the car...plus it was gorgeous out. So far he is doing really well. We should arrive some time tomorrow and can't wait to see JP and his family, and introduce them to Thomas!

New Foods & New Skills
I love these peas - but how do you get into this container??
This thing is cool - will it make me a geek?
GO VIKINGS!!
Yes, I am a big boy! and I know I'm cute...
I love sitting in Mommy's spot...now if only I could get the remote away from her.
I've got this sippy cup thing down.
I'm an upside down baby!!
Daddy is so comfortable.
Time for more carrots - give me that spoon Mom!!
Hello all. It's been a while. We haven't forgotten, just been a little busy. Thomas is so much fun and has started a few new things. In addition to rice cereal, he has now made his way through carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, and squash (yeah I know - disgusting)...but he LOVES them all and screams if the spoon isn't full enough fast enough! He loves eating with his spoon and often will scream again if we are eating and he's not getting any of it. His new favorite things to reach for are actually those things he can't have - the remote, Mommy's cell phone, and our drinks, food, crackers, etc.
Thomas also has a new skill - he can sit up on his own! And now that he can do it, he doesn't want to do anything else. He can't pull himself up into a sitting position (yet but he's close), but he will pull on our fingers and get himself sitting up. He loves sitting up like a big boy and lunged himself at his toys, blankets, Mommy, Daddy, etc.
I know it's a little late and been almost a week since he did it, but Thomas has also learned the art of rolling over. He's a pro at rolling over from tummy to back, but last week he rolled over from his back to tummy - and luckily Mommy and Daddy where standing right there to see it. Although he's learned the skill, he still doesn't do it very often -- he's too busy sitting up right now :-)
On Monday night, we head out for North Carolina for JP and Erin's wedding. We hope Thomas's first road trip is a good one!! Talk to you all soon!
