Giggle Giggle

We had our first all out laugh today...and numerous ones. We've had little chuckles here and there, but this was a full on laugh - He was having a blast. I was making faces and funny noises and he was having a grand old time - so were Mommy and Daddy just laughing at him. It was the cutest little thing. We'll hopefully catch another when one of us is near our phone/video camera to share with all of you :-)

We got the go ahead for rice cereal and Thomas had his first taste of "real" baby food, although he has already had a few "finger drops" of ice cream from Mom and Dad. He seems to be doing ok with it and certainly likes to eat.

Monday marked Thomas's 4 month check-up. I can't believe he's 4 months old already (well technically not until Friday, but close). It's gone so fast. Thomas had another check-up and his doctor said everything looked really good. He said he is a happy, healthy little boy. He now weighs 14 lbs 7 ounces and is at about the 37th percentile. He is a very long little boy at 25 1/4 inches, at the 75th percentile. In the last 2 months he has grown so much! The nurse was amazed at his length and how long he has gotten. He had another round of shots too, and both he and Mommy handled it much better, although we both still cried, although this time it was Thomas crying more than Mommy. He did really well though and didn't cry for nearly as long. He has, however, been having a pretty rough week and is still a little sore from the shots.

Monday morning marked another first for Thomas. While he was playing during tummy time, he rolled over from his tummy to his back for the first time. Mommy and Daddy both got to witness the event :-) He hasn't done it since, but the week has been pretty traumatic. All in all he has been doing really well and is happy and healthy. Hopefully he will be feeling better from these dang shots soon...even at his crabbiest he still melts our hearts with his cute little smiles and coos.

New Clothes & Geek Training

Oh no...Daddy's going to start turning me into a geek!

Oh yeah, Grandpa Nelson is going to be disappointed. Shank and Mommy started teaching me how to do "raspberries" and I'm kind of getting it and did one back (the beginnings of one anyway). I'm just on the verge of a huge laugh, too. Daddy was "scatting" to me this weekend and I kind of let a little laugh go. Mommy and Daddy started to giggle too...I think there will be lots more giggles to come shortly. Daddy also says that Uncle JP will be laughing at us right now, as it's below 0 outside, -20 to be exact. Needless to say, Mommy and Daddy won't let me leave the house.

This last weekend marked Thomas's first hotel stay. We went to Shakopee for Bakken Family Christmas. He did really well and it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. We had a blast, especially introducing Tom to Heather and Jess who I think were pretty excited. We all had a great time and it was a nice treat to get away.
