I meant to mention this earlier this week as well. If I didn't think so already, John is proving once again what a great guy he is. I have been having a hard time sleeping lately as baby is getting bigger and really have been pretty uncomfortable. My emotions have been getting the best of me too and last weekend was pretty tough. On Tuesday morning (my day off this week), John said he would have the car back in time so I could go to my prenatal massage. I told him I wasn't scheduled for one, but he said he called that morning and got me scheduled at 2:15 (which again made me cry). What a sweetie!!! It really was a nice treat. It's the second massage he has gotten for me since I've been pregnant - what a sweetie!!
I know John & Ryan will be disappointed that I show everyone what a sweetie he actually is - especially when, as Ryan says, he is trying to be a "pirate" someday :-)

Tours & Shopping
Finished our Family Birthing Center tour today. It was nice to see where everything will happen. Pretty much walked us through the floor, showed us the rooms we may be in, and also the waiting rooms where I'm sure Grandma & Grandpa Nelson & Nana & Pa Herring will be sitting :-) It was pretty cool because they started something new - every time a baby is born they play 16 seconds of Brahm's Lullaby overhead on their PA system to let everyone know a new baby has arrived. This gave me shivers and put tears in my eyes just thinking about it - I think I'm going to be a "crying mom". I also got the tears in my eyes in the actual birthing room - knowing in a few weeks we will be there and have something we have waited so long for....
We had a blast the other day too. We spent hours walking through Target setting ourselves up with a Baby Registry there. It was pretty fun picking out stuff and John had a blast after I gave him the "scanning gun". :-) Any time he gets to shoot things he's happy

Another Dr Appt
We had another dr's appt yesterday. Once again, thankfully, we are "boringly normal on paper". Dr. Eighan says we are doing really good. All of my labs from my glucose test came back perfect. Blood pressure and everything else is fitting into the charts perfectly. As he said, "My numbers are spot on". My weight is up - so baby is gaining weight just fine now after getting a slower start. My total weight gain for this baby is now up to 6 pounds - after getting a slow start after losing 10 pounds right away. Not too shabby. We now start our appointments every 2 weeks and this afternoon go to the hospital to get a tour. Tomorrow marks us at 30 weeks!!!! It's going so fast - although I'm getting pretty uncomfortable now and ready to be done - plus I can't wait to see, hold, and kiss our baby!!!

Big Brains
Well, now I've heard everything. Last night we went out to play cards with friends. At one point in the evening, our buddy Ryan touched my straw. He has now assured me that just by touching the straw the baby will have lots of brains :-) I'm pretty sure it will take away something from the baby!! :-)

Storms & Sleep
Hello. It's been a while - we have been really busy lately. It seems like time is flying by. Friday night we got home from supper to a house without electricity and NO AIR CONDITIONING or fans. I have successfully turned our house into what John refers to as "the meat locker" so this was extremely hard for me. Apparently the storm that roared through St Cloud brought down a power line about a mile from our house and we were without power for about 8 hours. Made for a pretty rough night.
Speaking of rough nights, the baby is getting much bigger and much more active. I think he/she will be like mommy and daddy - and be up all night :-) I have been experiencing the joy of kicking all night and unable to get comfortable anymore. Seems to come with the territory I guess, but looking forward to the next 11 weeks seems like forever away - although I can't believe I'll be at 29 weeks on Wednesday!!!

New Niece
We officially have a new niece! My brother JP and his girlfriend Erin welcomed Amara Paige to the world this morning at 8:38am. She weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz and was 21 inches long. JP said she has a lot of strawberry blonde hair...and everyone is healthy and happy, although a little tired. :-) Still waiting for a picture - but hopefully one will be coming soon. It's tough to be so far away, so we are really looking forward to our trip at the end of July. I guess my mom now has a head start getting used to being called Grandma!!
Bigger burger
Oh yeah, forgot to mention the approximate weight of the baby. They said it is now 2 lbs 12 oz. Thanks to Joe Sensor's Bar and Grill, I can still say I've had a bigger burger (it was 3 pounds).
